The Wedding Nanny
Will you have children attending your wedding? We can help! A Spoonfull of Sugar offers on site childcare for your most important day! We do all the work with the children so your ceremony, speeches, and dinner go off without a hitch! We bring all the supplies we will need and do all the set up before hand so when the children arrive we can give them a fun child centered day/evening without disturbing your wedding events.
Event Nanny
An event nanny will come to a location of your choice, anywhere that is safe and secure. An event nanny entertains (minimum 3 hour booking) the children so that your event can go off without a hitch! The event nanny will bring all of the supplies needed and do all the set up before hand so when the children arrive the event nanny can give them a fun child centered day/evening without disturbing your event
About Me
I (Sarah, Owner of A Spoonfull of Sugar Childminders), as a parent, know that when it comes to childcare, choosing the provider is one of the most daunting and challenging tasks that you are likely to encounter. As you are trusting the care of your little ones to another person which is scary. At A Spoonfull of Sugar Childminders we recruit by one simple rule "Would I entrust this person to look after my own children?". If there is the slightest hesitation, then I do not hire that person.
We are always there for you; throughout the entire employment of your nanny, we don’t just disappear the minute we have placed someone with you.
Personally, I found as a parent that I was having a hard time finding quality care for my children outside of the typical daycare hours. I ended up missing events and started asked other parents what they did. I found that a lot of parents had little to no options either and decided that I would do something about it.
As an Early Childhood Educator, I have worked in numerous centers and homes as a nanny, I am now the proud owner of A Spoonfull of Sugar Childminders. We are a growing team of over 50 professional childcare providers and many happy customers.

Memberships
Our members do not have to pay the $11.80 booking fee from each booking as this is included in the membership. Nanny or Childminder hourly payment is still required for members

Unlimited bookings paid for monthly.
*** At any time, you may cancel your membership for any reason. You need to email us a 60 day written notice, provided your membership is in good standing. If an arrears situation exists, the amount owing must be paid in full before cancellation can occur. You will be billed for the period of 60 days after your notice is received by us, and then will be pulled from future billings. You will be refunded the rest of the payment for the months not used.
All cancellation notices should be received by email.
Our Philosophy
Children are unique, full of life, boundless in their energy, in their desire to learn and endearing in their innocence. They challenge us, they make us think, and most of all they make us laugh. This is why we enjoy our jobs so much.
Our goal, first and foremost, is to ensure that your children are safe in our care. We pride ourselves in working as part of a childcare team with parents. Therefore, it is important for all of us to be on the same page in terms of parental desires for their children and approved discipline methods. We will never, ever use any type of corporal punishment on a child. We use positive reinforcement, redirection, logical consequences and timeouts as necessary and developmentally
appropriate.
We are big believers in free play. Children learn best when they are able to freely explore their world and express their own interests. We assist children in their exploration and guide natural learning through everyday activities and play. Our goal during free play is to be a facilitator,
while keeping the children safe, and helping as needed.
We also love to facilitate guided play, whether that be reading books completing crafts, introducing science as we go on a walk, or teaching math through a baking activity. Teachable moments are always weaved into our activities and free play.
